Account and enrollment information. Username, account preferences, selected programs, participation records, learning progress, lab activity, assessment results, certification status, and related administrative records.
Transaction information. Products or services purchased, payment status, invoices, and transaction references. Payment-card information is handled by our payment processors; we do not intend to store complete card numbers on our website.
Technical, lab, and security information. IP address, browser and device information, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, diagnostic logs, and cookie or analytics identifiers. When you access hosted training environments, records generated by our systems or infrastructure providers may also include account and session identifiers, login times, source and destination IP addresses, assigned lab or workstation identifiers, provisioning and access events, and available network or security logs. We do not claim that every action or command is recorded.
Communications and submitted content. Messages, form submissions, support requests, survey responses, assignments, capstone materials, and other information you send to us.
Accommodation or verification information. If necessary for an accommodation, exam integrity, or credential verification, we may request limited additional information. Please do not provide sensitive information unless it is requested and necessary.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you; automatically through the website, cookies, and security or analytics tools; and from service providers that support payments, hosting, communications, enrollment, identity verification, or learning delivery.

We may also disclose information in response to valid legal process; to protect learners, the public, our rights, or system security; in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets; or when you direct or consent to the disclosure. We may withhold advance notice where law prohibits it or notice could compromise an investigation or system safety.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly use personal information for targeted advertising across unrelated websites. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any legally required choices.

12.1 Live Guidance Data
If you request or accept an ESI Live Guidance session, we may process session-consent records, timestamps, participating account identifiers, the Academy page or workflow being assisted, chat messages, pointers or annotations, session status, and security or support audit events. The feature is designed for consent-based assistance inside ESI Academy and not for silent access to unrelated browser content or control of your personal device. Protected workflows such as passwords, authentication codes, identity verification, and payment entry may be excluded or paused.
12.2 Payments, Email, and First-Party Analytics
Stripe processes payment information used for checkout and subscription management. ESI receives transaction status, customer and subscription identifiers, limited billing details, and related fraud or dispute signals, but ESI does not receive or store a complete card number through the Academy. Microsoft 365 may process official transactional or support email. ESI Academy also uses first-party operational analytics to understand referral sources, page and feature use, enrollment steps, learner progress, lab launches, errors, and support needs. We use this information to operate, secure, improve, and market ESI services, subject to applicable law and the choices described in this policy.
12.3 Service Providers
We disclose only the information reasonably necessary for contracted providers to perform services such as payment processing, email delivery, hosting, security, monitoring, and customer support. We do not sell personal information for money. Provider processing is subject to contractual, technical, and legal safeguards appropriate to the service.
